Searching for authentication services Canada, legalization services Canada, document attestation Canada, certify Canadian documents for foreign use, or embassy document legalization Canada? We offer quick, affordable solutions for all.

If you need your Canadian documents accepted in countries that are not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, your documents must be authenticated by Global Affairs Canada and legalized at the appropriate embassy or consulate. For example, Canadian birth certificates, university degrees, or police clearances required for use in China, UAE, or Vietnam must follow this two-step process. Our team can handle the entire procedure for you quickly and efficiently.

What is Document Authentication and Legalization in Canada?

Document authentication and legalization (also referred to as document attestation or embassy legalization) is Canada’s official method for certifying documents for use abroad in non-Hague countries. This process involves authenticating your document with Global Affairs Canada and then legalizing it through the relevant embassy or consulate.

For instance, if a Canadian university degree, birth certificate, or RCMP police clearance certificate is required for visa applications in the UAE, Qatar, or Saudi Arabia, it must first be authenticated by Global Affairs Canada and then legalized by the destination country’s embassy.

The complete process involves two key stages:

    1. Authentication by Global Affairs Canada, verifying the document’s official signature and seal.
    2. Legalization by the appropriate embassy or consulate in Canada.

For countries that are members of the Hague Convention, apostille certification suffices. Learn more on our Apostille Services page.
