Witnesses: For most documents, the notary public acts as your witness — they witness your signature and notarize it. Some documents (usually wills, powers of attorney, and documents for use outside Ontario or internationally) state that the notary cannot also be the witness; in that case you must bring your own additional witness(es). Additional signers are $10 each per document. Please check the execution instructions from the party receiving your document.
